Outreach activitie

Carrying out Anti-Doping education Outreach activities (Outreach targeting for athletes under 18 is Play True Generation) during important events (for example, Olympic games) is an effective education approach created and promoted by the World Anti-Doping Agency. Place for the Anti-Doping education Outreach activities is usually set up in the athletes village, where the athletes go in and out frequently, so it’s easy to attract their attentions. Lively forms of the activities attract the athletes and their assistant personnel to participate in the Anti-Doping knowledge question answering. The Anti-Doping knowledge will be spread by teaching through lively activities via face-to-face communication with the athletes.

China Anti-Doping Agency successfully promotes this activity with reference to the education Outreach mode by the World Anti-Doping Agency in combination with actual situations in China. During finals of the 11th National Games held in 2009, the first Anti-Doping education Outreach activities were conducted in the national games village, which carried out the Anti-Doping propaganda and education for the athletes and their assistant personnel in completely new education concept and lively forms. The activities were warmly received by all the delegations and achieved satisfactory results.

During finals of the 7th City Games held in 2011 and the 12th National Games held in 2013, the Anti-Doping Outreach education activities station attracted many athletes and their assistant personnel to take part in the activities, which became one of the highlights for the event organization and the Anti-Doping work.

Meanwhile, the Anti-Doping Agency actively fulfills international obligations to carry out the Anti-Doping education and undertakes the Anti-Doping education Outreach activities for important international competitions held in China. In 2011, it organized the Anti-Doping education Outreach activities for the 26th Summer Universiade held in Shenzhen. It was the first time that the Anti-Doping Agency independently undertook the Anti-Doping education program for important international events. The education Outreach activities were warmly received by the participating athletes and their assistant personnel, attracting more than 1100 athletes from 79 countries to participate in the activities. In 2011, the Anti-Doping Agency also cooperated with the International Triathlon Union and set up the Anti-Doping education Outreach activities station during the ITU Triathlon World Championships held in Beijing to carry out the Anti-Doping knowledge education for the participating athletes and their assistant personnel.

China Anti-Doping Agency (hereinafter referred to as the Anti-Doping Agency) conducted the Anti-Doping Outreach education activities for mass sports participants during the 2014 Beijing Marathon Expo from Oct. 16, 2014 to Oct. 18, 2014. This Outreach education activity consisted of interactive question answering, Anti-Doping exhibition and knowledge explanation. The Anti-Doping Agency sets the section of interactive question answering suitable for the public in this activity to popularize basic Anti-Doping knowledge to the contestants in the process of self-learning, question answering and collecting souvenirs. The Anti-Doping exhibition attracted attentions of many runners.
